Benchmarking Services

On of our key priorities has been to improve the supply of up to date benchmarking information available to member authorities. To support our new ‘Employer Intelligence’ approach we have worked with authorities to find out what detailed benchmarking information would be most useful.

We provide a confidential exchange of detailed information between participating authorities within the benchmarking groups.

What we’ve done:

Detailed benchmarking information is available on the following topics:

• Redundancy selection and payments processes • Changes to local terms and conditions agreements • A-Z of model HR procedures • Chief executive and senior officer remuneration, • Sickness absence, health and well being interventions • Flexible working arrangements What next:

• Remuneration benchmarking information moving to self serve on line process, so authorities can directly access and update information

• Intelligence gathering through tailored ‘mini surveys’ providing a snap shot of selected areas of HR policy and organisational development

• Access to over 30 model HR policies in a secure Employer Zone for member organisations

I am really pleased to be involved with this project and have found it really useful. It is essential to Workforce Planning in 2011 and key to policy development for a workforce in current climate with difficult budget decisions to make. The information ensures benchmarking of data.

In these particularly demanding times, it is more important than ever for local authorities to ensure workforce strategies reflect local, regional and often national trends. Working together via the employer intelligence network provides valuable sources of information and assurance to continue to deliver effective workforce interventions and developments.
