M. Susan Chambers
Executive Vice President, Global People Division Walmart
With over 20 years of experience in the manufacturing and retailing industries, M. Susan Chambers now serves as the executive vice presi- dent of the Global People Division for Walmart Stores, Inc. She is responsible for managing, attract- ing, and retaining the nation’s largest private workforce. Ms. Chambers began her career at Walmart in 1999, and in 2006, she was promoted to her current
position as executive vice president of the Global People Division, reporting directly to President and CEO Mike Duke. Today, Ms. Chambers oversees recruiting, training, and reten- tion initiatives for more than two million Walmart associates worldwide. Her responsibilities also include human resource technology, culture change, regulatory issues, and benefits. She is also responsible for Walmart’s Global Ethics Office.
Ms. Ruiz began her career at Walmart as a store management trainee in 1992, and in a 19-year career with the company, she has gone on to hold a variety of leadership positions in store operations, labor relations, and human resources. In 2006, she became vice president, regional general manager, in the field operations division, and was
responsible for 150 Walmart stores in western Texas and New Mexico. In 2010, she was promoted to her current position as executive vice president of Walmart People, which is Walmart’s human resources department. Her accomplish- ments have garnered great attention: In 2007, Hispanic Business magazine named her one of the Top 15 Elite Hispanic Women in Business, and in 2008, she was recog- nized as one of the Top 25 Powerful Minority Women in Business by the Minority Enterprise Executive Council.

Prior to assuming her role, Ms. Martello served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Walmart International. Before coming to Walmart, she was the U.S. president of NCH Marketing Services, Inc., a global provider of promotional management solutions for clients that include many of the
world’s largest retailers and consumer packaged goods manufacturers. She is a member of the Committee of 100, International Women’s Forum, and The Chicago Network. Ms. Martello is a trustee of the Museum of Chinese in America.

As chief administrative officer, Patricia Callahan manages corporate communications, corporate social responsibility, enterprise marketing, govern- ment relations, and corporate human resources. This means that she oversees the company’s brand, communications, reputa- tion management, stakeholder engagement, and people development efforts. As if this is
not enough of a balancing act, Ms. Callahan is also responsi- ble for providing oversight and strategic direction for the most extensive merger in industry history. She is finessing the merger of Wells Fargo & Company and Wachovia Corpora- tion. Fortunately, she has ample experience to rely on: As a 33-year veteran of the company, Ms. Callahan has served as head of compliance and enterprise risk management, providing regulatory compliance oversight for the company. She devotes her managerial expertise to good causes by serving on the board of directors of The Marine Mammal Center.
