“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”
The Barnstormers Theatre kicks-off its 81st season July
5 – 9, with “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” the enchant- ing musical based on the “Peanuts” cartoons of Charles M. Schulz. The whole gang will be there as Charlie Brown comes to life
with pals Lucy, Linus, Sally, Schroeder and the inimitable Snoopy! It’s like a visit down a childhood memory lane ex- cept this gang never gets old and neither does their charm. Located in the historic town of Tamworth, New Hampshire,
The Barnstormers Theatre is the oldest professional sum- mer stock theatre in America (1931), and the only one still doing summer stock in the classic manner, producing eight shows in eight weeks. Located in a converted Greek Revival store, the theatre is air-conditioned with tiered, comfortable seating. Curtain time is Tuesday – Thursday at 7:30pm and Friday and Saturday at 8pm with a 2pm. Saturday matinee. Tickets are $24.50 to $29.50 for evening shows and $15
to $20 for matinees. Groups of 10 or more enjoy a 10% dis- count when ordering tickets at the box office. Friday night is Family Night, with family group (containing at least one person age 18 or under) tickets at $9.50 and $14.50, first come first served, on the day of the show. Shakespeare’s Magical Tempest at Winnipesaukee Playhouse
An exiled magician, a beautiful young maiden, a noble
prince, an airy spirit, drunken servants and the monster son of a witch all stranded on an enchanted island are amongst the cast of characters in one of Shakespeare’s most magical plays, The Tempest. Shakespeare’s last masterpiece, The Tempest will be the first time the award-winning Winnipe- saukee Playhouse presents a work written by “the bard” as part of its professional summer season. The Tempest may not be suitable for children under the
age of 10. Tickets cost $24 for adults and $22 for seniors/ students. There are performances Mondays at 2pm and 7:30pm and Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm from July 6th – 16th.
