returning back to base for a big breakfast, then back up the hill for an afternoon of more running and our skills and navigation class. We didn’t get lost this time, and our runners
ALPINE OASIS ULTRA & TRAIL RUNNING CAMP – APRIL 2011 W
e beat the Easter crowds in the Peak District by doing sunrise runs (6.30am),
and a bit of speed & hill work – with the prize of an Easter egg or two. Alpine Oasis is a small, friendly company
got us back to base in time for a well deserved rest and more food. Highlight of our weekend is the vehicle supported night run – yep, tea and Eccles cakes delivered at various points along the way. We start the run in the early evening in full light and run through the dusk into full darkness, head torches switched on and tiredness setting in, finishing at about 1am – exhilarated and exhausted. Finally, we spend the next day – or what’s left of it after a long sleep doing kit, hydration, eating on the move, core strength exercises, how to run with poles

who specialise in small group Ultra & Trail Running Camps in the UK and the French Alps. We understand your objectives before you join us, so we can fit the itinerary around your needs. We take you through your paces, give you the opportunity to try out stuff (running and navigating, night running and running with poles) and give you some top tips on how you might do things differently – there is lots of feedback, lots of time for questions and discussions, new kit to try & new things to think about. We always have good food, laughs along the way and plenty of like-minded chat. Our runners always go home having learnt something new and heard something interesting, fully motivated – and knackered!
