omeone at last has recognised the need to take

a closer look at online gambling and the EU consultation exercise is long overdue but welcomed. Quite how the situation of cross-border internet gaming will be addressed is awaited with interest especially as State monopolies of land-based gaming in some

European countries still exists and a uniform platform for legislation relating to any form of gaming is fraught with difficulty - let alone online. To complement this issue, GBGC give a very timely report on the state of online bingo. Also in this issue we have a neat juxtaposition of bingo hall reviews - from “Cricklewood to Foxwood” - almost waxing lyrical like a Neil Young song.

Still Stateside we drop in on the Potawatomi Bingo Hall to see how they celebrated their recent birthday.

Back in the UK, Deloitte give us the low down on the recent VAT legislation cases involving Rank whilst we also take time to sit down with Simon Wykes MD of Gala Bingo to disuss the company’s future plans.

In these austere times Bob Etherington gives some good advice re selling.

Last but not least we talk to Philip Graf, newly appointed Chairman of the UK Gambling Commission about it’s future.
