WE have some very exciting news to share with YOU , and with everyone who cares about the preservation of wildlife in Devon!

Devon Wildlife Centre opened. It is a centre of excellence for the care and rehabilitation of sick, orphaned, and injured wildlife. It is not a zoo. There are some residents, mainly orphans reared here and animals unsuitable to be released back into the wild.


There are many


keeper talks for you to listen to whilst you enjoy watching the animals, we have the farm and pet animals for the children to play with and for some of our older visitors, the chance to see badger cubs, fox cubs, squirrels and baby birds being fed at the acute care hospital. The

Animals will be the major attraction here but there are others, including wildflower meadow, wildlife ponds, a ‘farm in a barn’, a play area, gift shop, café and stunning views.


We will be open 10am-5pm, every day from April 1 until 30 October (excluding photography days).


An important aspect of the site, is our intention to develop it as an education centre by offering an engrossing visit for adults, and an educational facility for children!


The D.W.C. is situated at the stunningly beautiful park which was formerly the home of Prickly Ball Farm, in Newton Abbot. Both the site, and our experienced staff and volunteers, adapt perfectly to hosting visits.
