Fine views from The Smuggler’s
THE SMUGGLER’S INN situated halfway between Dawlish and Teignmouth enjoys fine views over both the sea and surrounding countryside. The Inn takes its name from the nearby ‘Smuggler’s Cave’ which before the railway was built was a popular contraband landing beach and now is part of the picturesque sea wall walk to Teignmouth.
The Inn has a large restaurant which offers a wide range of dishes including of course, local seafood but also has a “Farmers Feast Carvery”. For the carvery, all the meats are sourced from local farmers who work closely with the owners, for not only a better quality and flavour of meat but also to ensure high animal welfare standards.
The Smuggler’s Inn also has a large sun terrace and small beer garden, again with fine views where lunches and bar meals may be enjoyed. It also offers a well stocked bar which features from the areas two local brew- eries – Teignworthy and Scattor Rock. During the peak summer months the Inn will be open all day.
