Safety in the Sun


• Avoid exposure to the sun between 11am - 3pm when the sun is at its strongest.


• Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going out in the sun, and re-apply regularly.


• Always use a high SPF, water-resistant sunscreen when swimming.


• Look and feel cool with a good pair of shades to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays, wear loose-fitting clothes and keep your head covered with a hat.


• Remember you can even burn on a cloudy day or in the shade, so make sure you apply sunscreen.


• Don’t underestimate the strength of the British sunshine.


• Cover up or get out of the sun immediately if your skin feels tender or starts to turn red.
