Freemasons give to good causes


A LOCAL freemasons lodge has donated £2,000 to good causes in Snodland. Paddlesworth Lodge has


given £500 each to Pilgrims View Residential Home, Rec- tory Close, the medical centre andthe Scouts. The lodge, formed in 1945, regularly gives donations to Demelza House, Kent Air Am- bulance andthe Heart of Kent Hospice, and has decided to support local charities. Thanking the freemasons for


their generosity, Pilgrims View manager JaneWiltshire saidthe money wouldbe usedfor a hairdressing chair. Elaine Manooch, practice manager of the medical centre, saidthe money wouldgo to- wards a blood pressure monitor


for the waiting room to enable patients to take their own blood pressure. Marilyn Heselton, manager at


Rectory Close, the £500 would be split between the various clubs within the home. Snodland Scouts is trying to


raise £200,000 towards a new HQ andSteve Cameron, chair- man of the 1st Snodland Scout Group, saidthe £500 would be added to the £50,000 raised so far.


Heating project help A MAY fayre to raise funds to- wards the Christ Church heat- ing project will be held on Saturday, May 14, 10am - 3pm, at Christ Church Hall, Malling Road. There will be stalls, re- freshments and games.
