12 iod awards Oh what a night!
The elation of the evening may have faded but the celebrations are continuing at businesses around the region after the Institute of Directors’ London and the South East Director of the Year Awards

Hosted by Channel 5 newsreader Emma Crosby and featuring keynote speaker Andrew Neil , the glittering gala dinner took place in the Grand Ballroom at the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone in March.
The winners were judged the best of their peers from among the 362 directors initially nominated and the shortlist of 100 drawn up for the final selection process.
Rodger Broad, director for the IoD in the south east, said: “Everyone knows that in business you must work hard but, it’s also very important to recognise and celebrate success and our awards night was certainly a memorable celebration of the high calibre of director we have here in the south.
“In difficult times great leaders emerge and nowhere is that truer than in business. Those who picked up awards on the night have proved that hard work, talent and determination can bring success even in the
toughest economic conditions. We congratulate them.“
The awards are sponsored by PwC while HSBC sponsors the international categories.
John Minards, PwC South East regional leader, said: “These awards celebrate some of the finest directors in our region who, in spite of the challenging backdrop, have demonstrated exceptional leadership and best in class performance. The competition this year was incredibly strong and PwC would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists.“
