parking deck was constructed in Pittsburgh in 1983. Many of Pittsburgh’s Hospitals and Universities used silica-fume concrete to extend the service- life, and reduce maintenance
costs. Severe Pittsburgh winters necessitate using deicing chemicals for user safety. The result is damaged decks and expensive repairs.
