Golfers are always searching for that magical new piece of equipment or technique that will give them those few extra yards, more accuracy or a better repertoire of shots.
HYBRID CLUBS:
Probably the biggest advancement in golf club technology in recent years has been the introduction of hybrid clubs. They mix the advantages of an iron with the more forgiving nature of woods to create a new club that has the best characteristics of both.
Glen Erickson, the teaching pro and golf shop manager at West Kelowna’s Shannon Lake Golf Club says these clubs are the future of the game.
“People no longer are going out and buying a set of clubs that have 8 irons and 3 woods. particular game is crucial to increasing your enjoyment.
“Balls have various components, different core materials and dimple patterns that enable them to perform differently,” adds Erickson. “I think players should go through the experience of a ball fitting program to identify the performance features best suited to their ball striking capabilities.
