What do the Beatles, Abba and Neil Diamond all have in common? They have all performed at Westside Daze. Okay, they have taken to the stage in the form of tribute artists. You can add to that list Cher, Buddy Holly, Patsy Cline and even (Yea Baby, Yea) Austin Powers and so many others.
Organizers of the Westside’s annual Canada Day long weekend celebration have found a formula for success -- and they don’t expect to deviate from the formula anytime soon. 2011 will be no different.
Westside Daze, which runs from June 30 to July 3, 2011, will again feature some incredible stage entertainment.
Featured stage entertainment in 2011 will include a Crooners tribute, a three man Elvis show, along with an Eagles tribute band.
Westside Daze strives to provide fun for the entire family. There’s literally some- thing to do whether you’re two or 102.
Best of all, through the incredible support of local businesses, sponsors and government, Westside Daze remains a FREE festival. Festival organizers have vowed to keep it that way.
Along with high calibre evening shows, Westside Daze will again include events it has become known for.
The ever growing Car and Truck Show and Shine and the cutting of the Canada Day cake will take place Canada Day, Friday, July 1.
The second largest parade in B.C., Kids Day and the evening fireworks show are all a part of the festivities on Saturday, July 2.
While Sunday, July 3, celebrates our First Nation heritage at Okanagan Day, West Coast Amusements will return for a third year for the entire weekend with a carnival and midway bigger and better than ever. If you are hungry, there will be several pancake breakfasts and barbeques put on by various service organizations through- out the weekend. It promises to be a great four days of free family fun and entertainment.
Whether you’re two or 102, Westside Daze has something for everybody. Kick off summer the best way we know how - Westside Daze, Thursday June 30 through Sunday, July 3.
Westside Daze takes place every year on the field adjacent to the Johnson-Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre, with plenty of free parking available behind A&W.
