“Golf Kelowna” and the domain golfkelowna.com were provided for use by Tourism Kelowna after the consortium of three local Kelowna courses, who had originally branded a multi-course access program 12 years ago, agreed the name would be well-suited for Tourism Kelowna’s new marketing initiative.

Included in the branding initiative is one of the top courses in Canada: the 36-hole layout at Predator Ridge just south of Vernon. It features two unique 18-hole championship tracks: The Predator, a challenging forest course, and The Ridge course with no trees, tall grass and a links-style.

“Hosting the world famous Telus Skins Game twice (2000 & 2008) helped put us on the map, as destination golfers all over Canada want to play here,” noted General Manager of Resort Ryan Cochrane. “No matter how strong your product is though, it alone can be a tough draw. People who travel from a great distance want more. After playing us a number of times, they want to try something new, and that’s why it made sense to partner with the other Kelowna courses to offer a range of products that appeal to a wide range of playing abilities. Throw in the sand and sun of the Okanagan with the strong wine industry locally and we now offer the whole meal deal to golfers and tourists alike.”

Golf Kelowna also includes Gallagher’s Canyon Golf and Country Club, Gallagher’s 9 hole Pinnacle course, The Harvest, Okanagan Golf Club (The Quail

and The Bear), Black Mountain, Kelowna Springs, Shadow Ridge, Tower Ranch, Sunset Ranch, Kelowna Golf and Country Club, Shannon Lake, Two Eagles and the new Greg Norman Signature Course (formerly Ponderosa) in Peachland.

For new courses like Tower Ranch and Black Mountain, the Golf Kelowna arrangement is a perfect way to introduce their product to a national golfing public always hungry for new layouts to try.

“We want people across North America to look at us as the Las Vegas of Canada,” said Black Mountain General Manager Eric Thorsteinson. “We want it to be the first choice for destination golfers, but also as a place you could come to get married, have a bachelor party or simply plan a holiday to. With 6 par-three holes on our course and over 30 holes-in-one at Black Mountain in 2010, we want visitors to enjoy our fun championship course knowing they just might also have a
