paign has been running for years - and families thought they had finally achieved a breakthrough when Kent County Council agreed to paint yellow lines on the corners of certain road junctions. They were told the work would be done early in the New Year. But no lines had appeared by March 15, when this hapless driver caused Tudor Avenue to be closed for several hours.


Because motorists were still legally able to leave their vehi-


draulic braking system on the wooden posts and had to call for assistance. A policeman's bicycle


was used to block one end of Tudor Avenue and offi- cers redirected traffic at the Norman Close end. One resident, Richard Sissons, joked: "For a change it has been won- derfully quiet down here! Usually we're used as a rat-run as well as having cars parked all the way along here."

The evening service of worship is at 19:30 and will include “Kyrios” by Tony Ware, sung by the Churches Together in Maidstone choir. A retiring collection will be held in aid of the Heart of Kent Hospice.


Hot cross buns and coffee will be served after the service. Easter Sunday April 24th


Morning worship is at 10:30 and will be led by the Rev Brenda Russell. The service will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion. A crèche and activities for children will be available. Refreshments will also be available after the service.
