Fancy eight days sailing in the south of England in the Solent? Club Yachting are joining with our partners in a schools regatta on perfectly matched, brand new Beneteau First 40’s from 22nd to 29th August.


your yacht to compete against other schools for the prestigious Sailing School Challenge Cup.


These are performance sailing yachts - bring a high quality sailing experience, perfect for both sail cruising and racing (one of this type took the 1st and 2nd prize in the Sydney Hobart race in 2009).


Don’t worry it will not be all serious sailing - there will be plenty of time for barbecues, anchoring for lunch and taking time ashore to explore Cowes, Ryde and Yarmouth.


Events will include:


• Sail training under the watchful eye of one of Club Yachting’s Instructors;


• Learning to  y a spinnaker;


• Sailing games - testing seamanship skills for skippers, mates and their crews;


• Racing against your other yachts while p u t t i n g those skills in practise;


With a spinnaker as standard it promises to be a great boat for the ten days.


You will get the chance to have lots of sailing fun getting together with other members of


• Adding up the points to see which school has won the Sailing School Cup.


Still in the planning stage:


• Taking time out to visit Ryde Carnival on 20th August (Andy quips “better make a quick departure”;


• Shopping in Gunwarf Keys, or going up the 170m Spinnaker Tower;


The 13m yacht have three double cabins and plenty of room for you and your skipper.


We have availability for single berths or complete boats, all under the watchful eye of one of Club Yachting’s skippers (we are still working out who as they all want to go!).


• A trip on a square rigged cutter (and maybe a chance to have a race with her sister ship).


It promises to be very competitive,


fantastic


fun, often exhausting, and probably the best sailing event of the year!


The cost for the eight days works out at £800 per person - great value for great sailing fun!
