proud to announce the engagement of their daugh- ter, Miss Nicole Maltry, also of Weaverville, to Tyler Parker LeMieux of Leicester. Maltry and Le- Mieux were engaged on Easter of 2009. LeMieux is the son of Ginny Godfrey of Morganton, and Mr. and Mrs. David LeMieux of Leicester. Maltry is a 2009 graduate of Temple Baptist and is enrolled at the University of North Carolina-Asheville. She is majoring in psychology with a licensure in elemen- tary school teaching. LeMieux is a 2007 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School and is employed by M.B. Haynes while attending school to become an electrician. Te wedding date is set for June 11, 2011, in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Groundbreaking
Woodfin Mayor Jerry VeHaun was a part of the groundbreaking ceremony on a new public safety training facility Tuesday (Oct. 12) at the site of the old county landfill in Woodfin. The facility will include a defensive diving course, fire training tower, burn buildings, rescue evolutions and educational classroom space. It is scheduled to open in 2012.
