FULL STEAM AHEAD
WITH RIYADH INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION CENTER EXPECTED TO HOST DOUBLE THE NUMBER OF EVENTS THIS YEAR TO LAST, THE VENUE'S CEO ABDULLA AL OMRAN IS EXPECTING A BUSY BUT FRUITFUL 2011.
Since opening its door in 2009, Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC) has become one of the regional MICE industry's leading exhibition, conference and corporate event venues. During this short period, the venue has hosted everything from jewellery shows to healthcare, construction and agricultural events, establishing it as a top location for conferences spanning several industries. RICEC's rise to prominence has not gone unnoticed among exhibitors with the venue set to stage many more events throughout 2011, according to its CEO, Abdulla Al Omran. "For RICEC, this year looks much more promising with two-and-a-half times more shows to be held at the centre compared to the amount we staged in 2009," he says.

Having seen immediate success, the venue's management is eyeing long-term growth through its ongoing development strategy. Over the next three pages, Al Omran outlines his vision for the venue and explains what sets it apart from other conference facilities in the region.
What is unique about RICEC when it comes to staging big events? A typical big event requires accessibility, adaptability, conference facilities, commu- nication, infrastructure, parking facilities, security and other related services from the venue. RICEC, which is a world-class exhibi- tion and convention facility owned and operat- ed by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, fully meets all these requirements.
Its continuous high ceiling and column-free floor space of 15,000 square metres, coupled with some 5,000 square metres of outdoor exhibition space, make RICEC one of the biggest and best venues in KSA for large-scale events and conferences. The floor offers power, data, water and drainage con- nections and compressed air, making it easy to plan a large event with varied floor service demands. With excellent state-of-the-art conference facilities and a number of meeting rooms, several conferences and seminars can be held at RICEC at any one time. RICEC offers seamless communications in the exhibition halls and the conference hall, with large screens ensuring participants don't miss out on the action while visiting exhibition booths. Further screens are planned, which will provide more expo- sure for exhibitors.
