WHAT’s NEW in RV PARTS?

BY STEVE JOYCE, Service Manager of Jubilee RV Centre, Kamloops, BC

service@jubileerv.com Well folks, by the time you read this, it will be

the start of the 2011 RV season. A couple of new items to touch on, Shaw/ Starchoice Satellite Systems and the new,

On Demand Water Heater by Girard Products.

So let us start with the RV

Industry’s fi rst on-demand, induced draſt , LP gas, tankless water heater. T is new water heater by Girard

Products incorporates a power blower that forces the combustion air through the heat exchanger. T is new product uses up to 60% less LP than the conventional models with tanks and can save you up to 45 kgs of additional weight being that you have no water tank reservoir. Featuring a dual BTU burner, this appliance will automatically select from Hi-Flame to Low Flame, depending on the temperature of the water entering the unit. Other convenient features include, no by-pass valve necessary for winterizing, no anode rod required, two year warranty, no pilot lights, full electronic ignition, and of course, endless hot water. T is new product will retrofi t Suburban or Attwood water heaters. Here is a quick overview on how this new unit works:

A hot water tap is turned on. Cold water enters the heater. A water fl ow sensor detects that water is fl owing. A microprocessor-based circuit board automatically ignites burner. Water circulates through the Heat Exchanger. T e water is heated to the set temperature. When the tap is turned off , the unit shuts down.

Now for Satellite Dishes:

Many RV owners have asked me about Satellite Dishes that are compatible with their Star Choice/Shaw receivers that they currently own. To avoid any confusion, Star Choice was renamed Shaw Direct in April 2009. To accommodate this ever-growing demand, Winegard has introduced the TRAV’LER SHAW DIRECT, SKA-722/SK- 7002 automatic Satellite TV Antennae. T is is the solution for Canadian RVers. TRAV’LER FEATURES: One button on/off , low profi le, fast satellite acquisition, maximum HD with all satellite providers, and compatible on all RV’s. Travel height spec is 30 cm x 108 cm long x 85 cm wide. Check at your local RV dealership for these new products.
