Renee, 90, paints portrait of Ellie


A 90-year-old woman has raised £650 for Looe charity Ellie’s Haven.


Renee Cole, from West Looe, decided for her 90th birthday instead of gifts she would like friends and family to donate money for the charity if they wanted to.


Mrs Cole, who is terminally ill, is a keen artist and painted a portrait of Ellie Libby for her parents Nigel and Julie.


She said: ‘I have done a lot for Ellie’s Haven over the years and have


collected a lot of money. I have been an artist all of my life and am the oldest member of the East Cornwall Society of Artists.


‘It took quite a lot of effort to do the portrait because I am not very well, but I wanted to do it for Ellie’s parents.’


Mrs Cole has been a member of the East Cornwall Society of Artists for more than 40 years and has sold many of her paintings at its annual exhibitions.
