New Year
revellers praised Police officers in Looe have
praised revellers who attended the New Year celebrations in the town.
Thousands of people
descended on the town, many in fancy dress, to see in 2011.
PC Helen Libby said: ‘The pubs were packed but everyone was in good spirits.
‘The wonderful thing about policing on New Year’s Eve is that whenever anything happens we always have a brilliant description of the offender’s distinctive clothing.
‘We always have lots of lost property, often men who aren’t used to carrying a handbag and so put it down and leave it.
‘We are remarkably effective at reuniting people with their belongings.’
This year, one crime was reported to police, the loss, then theft, of a mobile phone.
