RONALD WILLIAMS Chairman, Aetna Inc.


Ronald Williams served as Aetna’s chief executive officer from February 2006 to November 2010. He has been the chairman of the board since October 2006. Under his leadership, company revenues increased 54 percent, to $34.7 billion, from 2005 to 2009. Membership increased 28 percent in the same period to 18.9 million. Since joining Aetna in 2001, Mr. Williams has focused on innovating the industry, helping make possible new levels of transparency in the healthcare system. He stepped down as CEO after almost a decade with the Hartford-based health insurer, but will remain executive chairman until his retirement in April 2011.

JAMES BENTON, M.D. Certified Radiation Oncologist, RC Centers


Dr. Benton has been a certified radia- tion oncologist since 1997. Before joining the Radiation Therapy Oncology Center in 1998, where he treats prostate can- cer patients, Dr. Benton served as chief resident of radiation oncology at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. As a young boy living in Savannah, his grand- mother developed stomach cancer and he thought often about growing up to be a physician. He went to earn his medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine, graduating first in his class in 1987. Dr. Benton completed his radiation oncology residency at Emory University in 1996, eventually becoming chief resident before coming to RCOG.

PATRICE MATCHABA, M.D. Head, Global Development, U.S. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation


Dr. Matchaba was appointed head of Global Development, U.S., for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in October 2010. He is also the global head of Drug Safety & Epidemiology. He joined No- vartis South Africa in 2000 as the Country Pharma Organization medical director. Since moving to Novartis Pharmaceu- ticals Corporation in 2002, he has held several roles of increasing responsibility in global clinical development, including global head, Development Franchise, Im- munology and Infectious Diseases (IID) and interim Therapeutic Area head for IID, Clinical Development & Medical Af- fairs. He was also the Global Therapeutic Area head for Arthritis and Bone.

MICHEL PAUL Company Group Chairman, Johnson & Johnson


Michel Paul has headed a $2.5 bil- lion diabetes care franchise of Johnson & Johnson since January 2008. Previously, he was the worldwide president of Depuy Mitek, a Johnson & Johnson company and a leader in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. Under his leadership, Depuy Mitek revenues doubled over the past three and a half years. Prior to join- ing Mitek in 2004, he held the position of worldwide general manager of the bariat- ric surgery franchise for Johnson & John- son’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery Division. Over the course of his 28-year career with the leading healthcare and pharmaceutical company, he has distinguished himself in a variety of roles.

John Morton is a model of how engineering services are delivered to and beyond customers’ expectations. He has spent 45 years in government and in industry, with 35 years of experience in engineering product development, support teams, and customer relationship manage- ment. His keen ability to visualize orga- nizational growth strategies and execute strategic plans to achieve performance is substantiated by a four-year average award fee history of 95.8 percent. Early in Februray 1970, Mr. Morton received a “Silver Snoopy” award for professional excellence in recognition of his contribu- tion to the mission success of Apollo 11.
