pitchcare.comTraining OUR NEW TRAINING WEBSITE

We’re on the verge of a new year and, at Groundsman Training, we are busily preparing our spring and summer training programmes.

Since September, we have facilitated many training opportunities for our members and associates, on courses from the Lantra Awards portfolio, organised by ourselves or in conjunction with our Training Partners and other Training Providers within our UK network.

We have also delivered our own 1-day Turf Maintenance courses for Cricket Autumn Renovations, Flat and Crown Green Bowls, Winter Sports and Artificial Surfaces in various parts of the country.

In November, Frank Newberry led the first day of our annual two-day Essential Management Skills course at Warwick University, with a forward looking and enthusiastic group of Head Groundsmen, Greenkeepers and their Deputies. In fact, demand for this course has continued to come in since the first training day on 17th November, so we are planning an additional Day 1 for Thursday 13th January. Everyone will then join together for Day 2, on Thursday 17th February, to discuss case studies prepared since their first training day, and continue developing their management skills under Frank’s renowned tutoring.

Frank is also headed our course on Dealing with Difficult People and Situations in early December, which is designed for anyone whose daily work brings them into contact with the general public, with the aim of equipping them to diffuse situations of potential conflict and bring about the best outcome for all concerned. This was run as a public course, but it is ideal for people

from schools, golf clubs, community sports facilities, municipal parks, leisure parks and so on, and we are happy to tailor-make the course to meet clients’ particular challenges.
