Pailey’s Pocket offers reduced prices for parents. By Robin Wilson Pailey’s Pocket is a new chil-

dren’s consignment store that opened the first Saturday in Oc- tober on Leicester Highway. The store offers a way to save money and make money at the same time. Owners Danita Shook and

Jacki Collins are the mother and daughter team behind this opera- tion. They saw the need for this type of consignment store in their community. They are both long-time resi-

dents of Leicester and owners of the Leicester Child Develop-

ment Center. They have first -hand knowledge of the amount of items that parents buy and give away for their children. “We got the idea when people

were always wanting to donate clothing to the daycare and it just made sense that these people could make money back by con- signing their items,” said Shook. The name of the store, Pai-

ley’s Pocket, came from Shook’s 5-year-old daughter, Pailey, who really likes fashion and clothing. The store is a 3,000 square-

foot space with a large variety of items. “We take any consignment items that pertain to kids,” said

Shook. The store has clothing for kids

from infants to teens along with furniture, toys, baby items, ma- ternity clothing, electronics and more. Most items are half or less than retail prices. They also pay 50 percent to the consigner. Em- broidery and alterations are also offered. The store opens at 10 am Mon-

day-Saturday, and consignments are accepted every weekday. Pai- ley’s Pocket is located at 347-A New Leicester Highway in the Westmont Centre next to Dollar General. For more information, call 828-551-1365.
