PHOTOGRAPHY Record turnout for 2010 awards

The Master Photography Awards 2010 produced a record entry, with the largest number of images on show at any awards event to date, and a record attendance by photographers.

The scale of the event was matched by the setting, one of the largest Hilton hotels in the country – the Metropole at the National Exhibition Centre. This venue had the space for over 200 delegates booked to attend the Yervant seminar staged during the day with the support of Graphistudio, with the same room used for the MPA’s annual general meeting. Although going down as the fastest AGM to date, this was well-attended. Trade show exhibitors were G F Smith, Loxley Colour, The Flash Centre, Epson, Light Blue software, onOne Software, Mario Acerboni, RiskAllince Insurance, Yervant Page Gallery and the MPA itself as seminar visitors included non-members who were given information about the association. Lastolite assisted Keith Trainor and Events Photography Ltd with the studio set and lighting for formal and fun photographs. The print exhibition was held in the same large func- tion suite as the dinner and the trade show, a single space changing its character with dividers and lighting during the 9am to midnight programme of events.
