Faith & Globalisation Programme Durham University The Faith and Globalisation Initiative


Durham University is the leading UK hub of the Faith and Globalisation Initiative, led by the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, formed from top universities across the world: Yale University, National University of Singapore, McGill University, Tecnológico de Monterrey, University of Western Australia, and Peking University.


Other universities from different parts of the world will be joining shortly. This network of universities will seek to enhance awareness of the relevance of religious identity, and foster practical involvement in connection with the global context of religious identity.


Both teaching and research collaboration will be developed to provide students and academic staff opportunities to benefit from each other’s experience and expertise. Through the range of activities run by the partnering universities interlocutors in governmental, civil society and private circles will also have access to in-depth knowledge of the complex dimensions in which faith experiences, religious institutions, and global processes, interact. In order to deepen the links amongst the participating academic partners the sharing of experiences, and planning, an annual meeting of the network alongside other forms of communication will take place.
