The Centre is home to


over 150 different animals, including our famous miniature Shetland ponies and Mediterranean miniature donkeys that foal throughout the spring and early summer.


As you explore the 20 acres of beautiful Dartmoor parkland you will meet lots of other friendly animals – other horse and pony breeds, pygmy goats, Kune Kune pigs, Shetland sheep and lambs, chickens and ducks.


There are also


rabbits, degus, gerbils, mice and guinea pigs in our Pets’ Paddock, which provides a perfect setting for smaller children to

walk in aviary, where visitors can walk amongst peacocks, chickens and ducks.


And for the older children, spotter guide handouts provide a fantastic and fun way to interact and learn about the animals and their habitat.


There are many fun, free and hands-on activities suitable for all children – helping to feed our lambs, enjoying the daily birds of prey display or helping to operate a real tractor, are just a few of the activities that everyone will enjoy. Check the

During the school holidays, in addition to our usual programme of activities, we have a family entertainment show every afternoon - Professor Fumble’s Magic Show (week- days), and Dan the Hat’s Juggling Show (weekends).

Budding young riders can head to our riding arena and meet Magpie and Freckles, two of our friendly riding ponies. And a rosette at the end of every ride is a fantastic memento of your special day at our Centre. (Please note that riders must be aged 2 to 9, and there is a small extra charge for pony rides).


There are lots of indoor and outdoor play areas where children of all ages can burn off that excess energy. The more active children can bounce above it all on our trampolines, which are suitable for all ages. There is also a mini tractor pen, where budding young farmers can test out their tractor skills.


NEW FOR 2010, older children will enjoy the exciting zip wire, whilst smaller children will love the playhouse.


And if you’d like to


take it that little bit more easy after enjoying a picnic, or lunch in our Paddock View Café, you can enjoy a stroll around the ponds and visit our Willow Garden, where you can delight in the peaceful and attractive surroundings, and


observe various insects and butterflies amongst the plants and flowers. There really is something for
