Bonita Valley Farm, filled the summer time for the girls and that is where they met horses. The entire family began a love affair with these animals that would last their lifetime.


Pat decided the girls would do well in a summer camp since they needed to stay busy and could meet new friends. Augie Handley, then at

Her last Junior Year of showing, she and Sandy went back for the whole year to show Classic and a couple of others. Her Junior Jumper, Steer Clear, was Ju- nior Jumper Champion at Devon, and at Harris- burg the Prix de States Zone 10 Team were Gold Medal winners with Jenny as leading Individual rider there to take the Individual Gold Medal also. The Juniors that year included Jenny, Meredith Mi- chaels, Joie Gatlin, Candice Schlom and so many others, quite a roster of follow competitors!" "A Grand prix horse, Dalfsen, had been pur-


chased for Hap to ride and it eventually got passed to Jenny. When Jenny and Sandy returned to California at the end of the year this horse came along. The next spring Jenny won the very first Oaks Grand Prix, at Joan Irvine's 'The Oaks' facil- ity," and Jim smiles a reminiscent kind of smile. Pat and Jim are very different people and noth-


ing clarifies that as much as their own uniqueness and individual passions. Aside from the horses, they are each certainly their own person and yet undeniably connected by the same thread. Do everything the best way possible, love your fam- ily, keep humor always in your life and be kind to people you are connected to. Pat is smart as a whip, artistic and has a natural


sense for visual balance and beauty. Her flair for interior designing has been reflected in all of their homes over the years and the attention to detail is obvious. Everything is harmonious and un- derstated but, on occasion, there is an exorbitant amount of humor mixed in somewhere with her
