participating restaurants, which are donating 20 percent of your check total to the C.A.R.E. Program. With over 30 restaurants to choose from in the Long Beach area, you are going to have your pick of enjoyable dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The C.A.R.E. Program makes high-quality health and social service programs to HIV/AIDS infected and affected individuals and families. Their services are professional, compassionate and recognize the individual needs of each person. Mark your calendar to C.A.R.E. on August 12. YPC BEACH VOLLEYBALL CLASSIC 2010 Hit the sand and spike it up in the sun as the Young Professionals Council of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center presents Beach Volleyball Classic 2010 on Saturday, August 14. All the action takes place at Will Rogers Beach for the tourna- ment. All proceeds will benefit the important health services provided by the L.A. Gay and Les- bian Center. Teams of six to eight people will compete and each team is responsible for raising a minimum of $1,000. Put a team together or register to participate in a fun and active sport to help the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center. After the games, there will also be an after-party and awards ceremony for the players. For additional information visit ypcbeachvolleyball.org. MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM DANCE MARATHON Put on your dancing shoes and participate in this inaugural dance marathon to


raise much-needed funding for Camp Laurel. Camp Laurel is the first camp of its kind in Southern California and is free to all children ages 6 to 17 and serves more than 500 children, youth and family affected by HIV/AIDS. The five-hour dance marathon is taking place at the fabulous Fubar in West Hollywood on Saturday, August 7 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Registration is $30 with a minimum of $250 in donations to be raised by each dancer. There will also be celebrity DJs, actors, singers, drag queens and more on hand for this novel dance marathon to further the work of Camp Laurel in helping those in need. RODEO TIME IN RANCHO MISSION VIEJO The 10th annual Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo is taking place this year on


Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29. Join in for the cowboy way of life as the very best of participants compete in bareback riding, roping, steer wrestling, bull riding and more. Tickets are $20 for adults; for children ages 4 to 12, they are $10. All proceeds benefit local charities. Gates open at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo takes place at the corner of Ortega Hwy. and Antonio/La Pata in the Oaks Blenheim Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park.
