Summer Stage theater camp For the 10th year in a row, First Stage Youth Teatre is offering its


Summer Stage theater camp in Mars Hill in two sessions: July 12-16 and July 19-24, both culminating in Saturday performances at 11 am as well as a week in Spring Creek in Madison County, June 21-26. All camp sessions offer a morning section from 9 am - 12:30 pm for


ages 8-11 and an afternoon section from 1:30 pm - 5 pm for ages 12+. Te younger group will explore storytelling and myth while the older section will take an in-depth look at Devised Teater, a method which seeks to tap into the creative potential of each individual by allowing the students to function as actors, playwrights, directors, designers, po- ets and musicians. Storyteller coming to library Storyteller, musician and entertainer Andy Offutt Irwin will perform


at 3 pm on Saturday (May 8) at the Weaverville Library. Irwin has been a three-time featured teller at the National Storytelling Festival and tours regularly with the Kandinsky Trio. For more information, call the library at 250-6482. Te Friends of the Weaverville Library is sponsoring the event.

erville police indicated he never heard of saw Clark’s vehicle. A witness, Steve Lankford, told police he yelled for Bechtol to move but Bechtol did not have time to respond.


The vehicle was traveling at


an estimated 20 miles per hour at the time of the accident. Clark, 74, told police he never saw Bechtol. He is charged with reckless driving.
