Christ United Methodist cont... Continued from page 8

For the past six years, Christ Love Preschool has served the com- munity with quality Christian education and care. “Children are so important to God and to our church family as well,” King said. “Our teenagers and children make up a large percentage of our church body. Tey are very active in our worship services, disciple- ship and community outreach.” Christ UMC is committed to

helping numerous local ministries. Church members help provide meals for the Senior Meal Site each month, as well as provide monthly tutoring and childcare services for the North Buncombe ESL project. Outreach also occurs through vol- unteering with ABCCM, Manna

Food Bank, Habitat for Human- ity, Samaritan’s Purse, the ‘Room in the Inn’ program and UMC Conference mission initiatives. CUMC also houses mission teams each summer, provides meals for the NBHS football program each fall, and gives ongoing support for various missionaries. King was very eager to share

God’s encouragement to our com- munity. “I think we need to be remember that God has a plan for our lives. His plans are good, to prosper us and to give us a future.” King said. “No matter what we are going through, God loves us and wants what is best for us. We live in a culture of fear. God knew that we would need reassur- ance. In the scriptures, He tells
