North Windy Ridge Music jam raises funds for Relay Students and staff at North
Windy Ridge School came to- gether to fight cancer at their an- nual Music Jam on April 1, rais- ing $2,289 for Relay for Life. Students danced, formed congo
lines, and listened to music pro- vided by Steve Ward. Homerooms set their own fundraising goals and tracked progress throughout the week. North Windy Ridge’s Relay for
Life team is representing Greece in this year’s “Change the World” international theme. In keeping with the theme, each class se- lected a “Mr. Toga” and each of these young men raised money at the event. Te NWR Girls’ Club opened a Relay for Life store with fun items for students. NWR team members and students are invited to wear their togas at Weaverville’s Relay for Life next month. Weaverville’s Relay for Life
takes place May 14-15 at North Buncombe Middle School. Te entire community is invited to join in a night of celebration and remembrance. All proceeds ben- efit the American Cancer Society.
