Running from between five to seven days, the Penninghame Process, Penninghame Truth and Consequences and Penninghame Oneness programmes focus on giving people “deep self-awareness, personal growth and self-development,” explained Marie. These courses typically generated custom through word of mouth – about 200 people in a year, some 20 on each course at a time. “They are very niche, so people who are interested get to know about them,” Marie said. However, since the launch of the newest course, Health Week, at the end of last year, the profile of the Foundation has grown considerably. Teaching people to balance nutrition in cooking, health and quality of life, the course “has almost limitless appeal,” Ray said. For this, the Foundation has been more actively involved in marketing. Most of the courses at Penninghame House include activities such as meditation, breathing, body psychotherapy and exercises. The aim is to give participants the tools to “open themselves up to a more fulfilling and meaningful life”. The Health Week, in contrast, focuses mainly on nutrition, including modern macrobiotics and the latest scientific discoveries.
