CIHA Tackles Stress with Workshop, Acupuncture

C

ornerstone Integrative Health As- sociates (CIHA) has new tools to

tackle stress with a two-hour Integrative Stress Reduction workshop and Friday NADA acupuncture sessions beginning in March. The introductory workshop, to be

held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 25 at CIHA, will be facilitated by Susan Maxwell and Carolyn Weisenberger, a licensed Heart- Math provider. Workshop participants will

1. learn how the body and brain re- spond to stress;

2. identify their own stress levels and triggers;

3. experience the physiological feed- back loop;

4. explore skills and techniques for reframing stress in the moment;

5. experience NADA protocol acu- puncture to relieve stress symptoms.

The class costs $35 and is limited

to 10 participants; call 865-983-7800 to register. CIHA also will offer NADA acupunc-

ture sessions at 1 p.m. Fridays begin- ning March 5. According to facilitators Weisenberger and Maxwell, who are licensed acupuncture detoxification spe- cialists, NADA acupuncture helps address the physical and emotional symptoms of stress and promotes a good night’s sleep and clearer thinking. NADA acupuncture is done by placing small, sterile, dispos- able acupuncture needles at five sites on each ear. Once the needles are placed, the participant will need to sit quietly for 40 minutes. Space is limited; participants should call 865-983-7800 to register and should plan to arrive 10 minutes early. The cost is $35. CIHA is located in the Springbrook Corporate Center in Alcoa, TN, three

minutes from the Knoxville Airport. See ad page 40
