Spectral restructures in the UK

AV furniture manufacturer Spectral is to restructure its UK operations and become a subsidiary of Spectral Group Germany. Justifying the decision the company said that: “Due to the growth strategy put in place, the success of the UK company and the future plans for the company it makes good business sense to streamline the businesses across Europe.”

The new company, called Spectral GB Ltd, is owned directly by the German manufacturer; and taking the business under the wing of the parent will allow “investment to be made in improving all aspects of the business”. The new company will be headed up by Antony Haase, with Rene Glasmacher and Riccardo Casciato as fellow directors alongside Antony. Spectral GB will have access to stock and order systems in Germany and will enable the new company to offer a faster information serv- ice and shorter lead times on certain products. The organisation in the UK will be focused on customer service and satisfaction.

Analog Way opens UK office

Analog Way has opened a direct sales office in the UK. Analog Way UK will provide sales operations for Analog Way’s lines of products for the territory, as well as training facilities and first level technical support. Analog Way’s products will continue to be available through True Colours Distribution, of which Régis Pirot, area sales manager at Analog Way UK comments: “True Colours has played a key role in developing Analog Way’s brand in the UK over the years. We look forward to continue supporting them.” The justification for the opening of the direct sales office is explained as being “in line with Analog Way’s willingness to being closer to the regional market and atten- tive to customers’ specific needs”. Alexander Schöpff, EMEA sales director at Analog Way, said that: “We are glad to offer to our UK customers a direct and close sales relationship. As Analog Way keeps improving and developing its product range, our UK team is looking forward to supporting our customers by providing them with our best service and to working in close collaboration with them on future projects.”

New 3D integrator debuts

A new, integrated 3D hardware and content business called Stereografix made its debut at Screen Media Expo. Founder Saif Chaudhry said that the company’s objective is to address the big question currently taxing 3D technol- ogy commentators – “We have the technology, now where’s the content?”

The company offers two services. Stereografix

Design Studio provides visualisation and ani- mation with the option to include video, stills and CGI in the finished product. Stereografix Hardware Consultancy offers impartial advice on the many 3D platforms currently available, and will hire or sell the necessary equipment. Stereografix has attracted interest from the commercial, advertising and education sectors. A channel partner deal with a leading lenticu- lar technology providers has generated interest from exhibition contractors and point of sale specialists since it allows for ‘No Glasses’ 3D imaging onto flat screens.

Chaudhry launched Stereografix following a two year stint as CGI senior designer on a high- ticket 3D simulator project for the Ministry of Defence. Prior to this he was involved in 3D animation for the advertising sector. He believes that: “The buzz around ‘the 3D Summer’ means the timing for our launch couldn’t be better. We now have the expertise, hardware, software and design talent to pro- vide all important content for the various 3D platforms currently on offer.”
