in an accessible style that clearly sets out the author’s vision. Without hyperbole or scare tactics, Smith paints a picture of extraordinary change, and what we need to face to pass through that change smoothly. It is a daring book, a brave book, as much prophesy cloaks itself in vagueness, while Smith’s book speaks plainly. I found it an engaging read that motivated me to embrace the coming changes and prepare myself for the years ahead, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in participating wholeheartedly in the upcoming shift.

Developing Your Intuition and Psychic
Powers is an excellent introduction to our ‘sixth sense’. It begins with a discussion of our psychic senses that covers such fundamentals as its function, nature and how to protect ourselves, and then moves into how to start working with our psychic energy. Practising receptivity and meditation are covered, as are dreams and some of the tools mankind has developed to assist psychic development. Many areas are covered, including
divination tools such as Numerology and the I Ching, offering the reader a comprehensive introduction to this area from which further investigation can proceed. The book ends with a section on intent, and using psychic powers positively, a very important message for anyone embarking on this path. All in all, the book is a clear, detailed introduction to this area, but will offer nothing new to anyone whose gifts have been developed and who has been using them for some time. However, it’s a good book to lend those who shower one with questions about our psychic gifts!

Dear Marian I think it would be a great idea to have
a Paradigm Shift readers club, however I don’t have the time available to organise such a project myself. But, if there are any willing volunteers out there who would like to do this I’d be very happy to talk to them. Do get in touch wherever you are!

Issue 40. Dec - Feb 2009
Dear Claire
´
I’ve Just read the letters in the last issue and was especially in tune with Joan from Lewes; I too feel cut off from spiritual people and have done since I left my healing life in Hampshire - it was as if the door was closed on me so that I could walk the talk. Not easy or comfortable. Whilst I continue to enjoy my spiritual connection with ‘Upstairs’ and my guides and angels, there seems to be a cold draught from physical connections. I have been unable to get a permanent job, so have been in and out of money situations both happy and not so, as well as issues of self worth etc. Paradigm Shift magazine has been a real help to me too as it is higher than my level so I am constantly striving to understand and align with the views and ideas expressed there. It has seemed that I do this alone - physically - there seem to be no other people around with similar views and ideas! I guess they are around - one in Lewes and another in Crowborough - many more in between, but somehow one doesn’t get to know who they are.
The thought has just come to me that
perhaps it is time to start up Paradigm Shift reader’s ‘clubs’/groups/contact network?
I would be very happy for you to
pass on my details to Joan from Lewes and Michelle from Crowborough so that, perhaps, we could have contact. It seems daft in this day and age when communication is so easy for people to be feeling they are in pockets of isolation! I wonder if something of the gist of this email might be published in the magazine as I doubt Joan and I are the only ones feeling like this?
Thanks for all your good work, and
for overcoming all the challenges you all at Paradigm Shift have no doubt had to face in your lives in order to produce the magazine. Well done and may you keep going for many more years to come.
Lots of love and angel hugs. Marian, Tunbridge Wells
