BIKU, the popular Tea Room on Jl Petitenget, No 888, serves up the best high tea, delicious food & excellent coffee while ‘people watching’. Noticed some beau-
tifully decorated cupcakes & boxes of chocolates for sale, but they were
actually candles! crafted by, Natural Light Candle Company.
DOM@HOME by Disini, on 67A, Jl Mertanardi, has the most magnifi cent & beautifully framed print, which portrays two decoratively dressed, Balinese danc-
ing girls, painted in the softest pastels, it’s a real one-off piece for the discerning buyer, be sure to go take a look!
Innuendo by Catherine van Osch has ‘gone to town’ with her new store on Jl Laksmana, very smart, showcasing some fabulous fashion!
And, next door is the slick, in and out living, furniture store, Deefusion,
who are on SALE, check out their lovely cushions. And, while you are instore,
check out the fi ne linens & cottons collection by Nico Perez, clothing that shares space with Deefusion’s smart furniture.
Further down on Jl Laksmana the other side of the road, pop into Milo’s Bazaar, for colorful resort wear with pizzazz - up to 70% off!
Back to No 88 A, Jl Raya Basangkasa, Seminyak, CROP DESIGN next door to Dandelion, a fashion shop for boys & girls, it’s yummy!
I hadn’t visited Crop Design for awhile (& maybe you haven’t either?) well, take a visit, if it’s jewelry you are after, then here you will fi nd some real design pieces, statement jewelry at its best. I can only describe much of it as, big & bold,
tribal, ethnic, graphic lines, avant-garde; it’s earthy fabulous!
Materials used are; resin, wood, mesh with brass, silver or copper, beaten gold plate, silver, & shell in Styles from; bangles, cuffs, neckpieces, bracelets, earrings & rings. What I do like is the design element used to craft each piece, unique,
clever & with thought.
You will also fi nd bolts of natural handmade dyed fabric resting against the wall, batik stamps set on wood blocks, tamarind wood, some made into stools, basketware, & framed prints for the wall with a Japanese feel.
In one glass cabinet there are a selection of jewelry antiques, found in other ethnic countries such as, India, Thailand & Morocco, places where many travelers go, in search of fascinating treasures.
There’s a plethora of objets scattered around the store, instead of streamlined simplicity which can look too ‘clean’, it’s an eclectic mix that gives a terrifi c feeling of discovery everywhere you look. This is what shopping in Bali provides, a mix
of it all, the usual to the most unusual. CROP DESIGN falls into the latter category, I like this shop a lot! Oh yes, there’s a corner of the shop related to all things ‘Green’ giving us some clothing items & jewelry, which is giving us options for our lifestyle. Seminyak Square. This particular store stocks the more high-end stylish collections, limited editions, bestsellers & selected new arrivals, all showcased within a glam slick interior. Found some luxe leggings, black patterned lace at front, plain at back. There are classic line bodysuits (perfect under fl imsy kaftans,
a good selection of animal prints, longer line tube skirts, pretty dresses, all in
a good selection of prints & color. Bags, belts including the corset style, & the must have scarf, denim shorts & hot bikinis. Body & Soul have got it all!
