4. If you have to, break it off
If, as a last resort, you need to withdraw
the membership of a high-maintenance member, be professional and polite but firm. Provide the member with a copy of the appropriate paperwork and immediate- ly stop monthly payments or reimburse for any monies owing. Handle this task care- fully to avoid mix-ups and having to deal with the person again. As a final courtesy, you could even tactfully suggest another nearby club that may be more suitable to the member’s needs. FBC
