1. Does the belt feel almost like ice when skat- ing on it?
2. Does the machine feel solid with no bouncing or vibrations when skating on it?
3. How big is the belt? How many skaters can skate at a time?
4. Does the belt need to be replaced over time? If so, how oſten? How much does a new belt cost? What is the labour cost to replace it?
5. How big is the motor? What is the minimum and maximum speed it travels? Does the belt reverse and, if so, how fast does it go in reverse?
6. How noisy is it? Can the coach and skaters com- municate easily and without concerns that they will damage their hearing?
7. Does the machine incline? How many degrees? 8. What safety features does it offer? An automat- ic stop, a manual stop or both?
9. Does the harness system accommodate skat- ers of all heights? Is it comfortable and free of restrictions?
10. What are the space requirements for the equipment (ceiling height, floor structure, air conditioning, etc.)?
11. How easy or difficult is it to move the treadmill?
12. Do skaters need to unhook from their har- nesses when they leave the equipment, or can they remain in their harnesses?
13. Can skaters stick handle and shoot as they skate, or is the machine designed just for skating?
14. Is the soſtware pre-programmable or does the instructor need to manually input data during the workout?
15. What kind of maintenance is required? 16. Is the manufacturer networked with profes- sionals across the country who can install, service and repair the equipment for you? What is the turnaround time for repairs?
17. How many years has the manufacturer been in business, and what kind of reputation does it have?
18. Does the manufacturer provide business information to assist purchasers in developing a financially-successful program?
19. Does the manufacturer offer accessories (like mirrors, filming equipment, soſtware, etc.), instruction manuals and live training that teach purchasers to operate the equipment safely and effectively? Is it involved in on-go- ing product development?
20. How much does the machine cost, and what does the warranty include?
