The Anaheim Community Services Department recognizes the following organizations and individuals for their outstanding donations of $1,000 or more to our programs during November and December 2009, and January 2010.

For the Pearson Park Amphitheatre DEVRY UNIVERSITY donated $3,000 and ANAHEIM DISPOSAL gave $1,475 to the “Family Friday Night” performance series.

The annual Volunteer Recognition event credits sponsorships from ANAHEIM FIREFIGHTERS’

ASSOCIATION at $1,000, EXTRON ELECTRONICS at $5,000, RELATED COMPANIES OF CALIFORNIA at $5,000, LAW FIRM OF RUTAN & TUCKER, LLP at

$1,000, and SA RECYCLING at $5,000.

Financial assistance for the Oak Canyon Nature Center was received from ANAHEIM COMMUTER SERVICES with a $6,500 contribution and CHEVRON CORPORATION supporting the “Kids for Parks” program with $2,500.

Employee payroll commitments continue to support on-going programs with the CITY OF ANAHEIM EMPLOYEES’ annual donation of over $72,867, and L-3 IEC with over $9,875 in financial donations. The Anaheim Public Library received several gifts during this quarter. The FRIENDS OF THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY gave a total of $1,692 for various branches’ programs, activities, and purchases. The

donated $12,679 for its programs and activities. JUSTIN DAVIS donated $5,000 to the Canyon Hills Library for six powered study carrels, while City

employee SELMA MANN contributed $1,000 and

the KIWANIS CLUB OF GREATER ANAHEIM gave

$5,000 to general library support. The Haskett Branch received $4,000 in funding for bilingual literacy programs, as well as other material supplies from the TARGET STORES CORPORATION. Grateful families could attend a special Christmas storytelling program valued at $1,521 thanks to WAL-MART stores.

Active senior athletes were supported during the annual Southland Senior Olympics with funding from EMERALD COURT of $1,500 and DEVRA AND FRED ROBLEDO with $1,130. The Fall Festival funding cites the donors

NORTHGATE MARKET at $2,500, TAPATIO FOODS,

LLC at $1,000, and DISNEYLAND RESORT with $5,000 for their support.

During the Thanksgiving season, low-income families were treated to the ‘Meals from the Heart’ program provided by FAIRMONT PRIVATE SCHOOLS valued at $3,200 in funding and goods.

The Motel Families Project has received the first of four $15,000 payments toward a grant total of

$60,000 from the UNITED WAY ORANGE COUNTY.

Thanks are also expressed to FRAN WISEMAN for $1,000 to general program support.

Looking for a Picnic Site or Field to Rent?

Find that perfect spot for a picnic, birthday party or any special event. Do you want to rent a field for a baseball or softball game? What about playing a game of soccer or football?

✓ Have the following information ready: Date, Time & Location of the event. ✓ Provide your address to the staff member and ask to have an application

mailed to you. If time is limited, come to Anaheim Community Services, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd., Suite 433, Anaheim, Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm for an application. Applications for picnic shelters can also be downloaded at www. anaheim.net.

✓ Fill out the application for the permit completely.

✓ Mail or return the permit application to the Anaheim Community Services Department for processing. (Approval takes 5 to 7 business days). In order to receive a resident rate applicant must present photo ID with an Anaheim address.

✓ If the permit has been approved, you will receive an invoice in the mail. ✓ Payment must be received 10 days prior to the event. ✓ After receiving payment, your permit will be mailed.

✓ If the application is denied, Facility Scheduling staff will notify you by telephone or in writing within 5 to 7 days of receipt of your application.

✓ All applications received after Tuesday for the upcoming weekend will be assessed a $25 permit rush fee.
