e at Calbarrie Electrical have a 35 year track record in fire, health and
safety and building protection. Our services are delivered across the
UK on a local level from 34 regional offices and primarily in Northern
Ireland via our Belfast office.
Your local Calbarrie Belfast office is managed and promoted to
government, councils, health trusts and SME’s alike.
There are four fully qualified engineers supported by an administration
office to ensure all enquiries, work contracted and invoicing is dealt with on
a personal and local level.
Our Belfast office has now been opened over four years and has
established a wide and varied customer base primarily built on reliability,
quality of work, value for money and the ability to deliver our customer
requirements.
We currently have annual contracts with over 170 clients, some with one
site and one service supplied, whilst others have several sites and are
supplied with numerous services. We are very proud of our customer
relations and can honestly say in four years we have never lost a client for
any reason other than them unfortunately ceasing to trade.
Calbarrie have invested heavily in the training of staff, testing equipment
and most recently the purchase of new vehicles. We are currently tendering
for several contracts and are seeking to continue with our expansion.

Works NI
I
n April 2004, HSENI launched its innovative small business advisory service,
known as Health and Safety Works NI (HSWNI), to help small businesses
manage workplace health and safety, understand their legal duties and
improve their overall business performance. It is the only example of a
dedicated small business advisory service offered by a health and safety
regulator in the UK or ROI.
The aim of HSWNI is to address the barriers faced by small businesses in
managing workplace health and safety by providing a free and confidential
service, offering practical advice from a reliable and trusted source with no
enforcement implications.
Although HSWNI is an integral part of HSENI it is separate and distinct
from HSENI’s traditional enforcement arm and operates from offices located
in Belfast centre and from HSENI’s regional office in Omagh.
The service is available throughout Northern Ireland to all small businesses
employing less than 50 employees but focuses on micro and start-up
businesses. The service is also available to the social economy sector in
Northern Ireland.
HSWNI delivers its service via business advisers not inspectors. This non-
inspectorial approach recognises the fact that, by and large, small businesses
shun bureaucracy and do not proactively seek advice from regulators.
