TTG Getaway
Got a titbit or two about the travel trade? Then tell TTGina… although she probably knows it already
TTGina
Phew it’s been a busy week! First I launched my own weekly bulletin – “5 on Friday” – which is packed with the lighter side of the industry and celeb travel goss, plus the five top news stories from the week. For weekly fun-filled frolics on your Fridays, make sure you sign up at
ttgdigital.com Then I created my own Twitter account (@TTGina – start following me now) and acquired almost 100 followers in one day! Not that I like to brag of course.
Even though I was busy with all of that, I still found time to hit the slopes last week. There I was quietly enjoying the ride and topping up my goggle tan on a button lift in Val D’Isere, when I came across the marketing director of a certain family ski company (Mark Warner) floundering with skis in the air
and clutching his seat for dear life. In the name of journalism I reached for my camera, but he was too quick for the flash and all I captured was him proclaiming that the evil lift had flung him two feet in the air. It’s always the lifts! Or champagne in my case…
Closer to home it seems one rugby star has been getting in trouble with an airline. I do love a rugby boy, but even I raised a (finely manicured) eyebrow at the recent behaviour of Gavin Henson on a Flybe flight from Glasgow last week. The perma-tanned Welsh back has apologised for his drunken antics, which allegedly saw him throwing ice cubes at passengers, but the airline has now banned him for six months. No matter Gav, you can come fly with me any time. Tidy.

A £50 PIZZA EXPRESS VOUCHER WHERE IN THE WORLD?
This popular city break destination is a favourite among customers of The Holiday Team, and with a population of over 8.1 million, it is also the most populous city in the country. In general, the city has a humid continental climate, although winters can be long and cold. Its name is taken from the alternative name given to James Stuart – the future James II of England. In the early 17th century, the area was
inhabited by various Native American tribes, but in 1609 it was claimed by Henry Hudson for the Dutch. The British later took over the colony in 1664.
The Holiday Team is offering a £50 Pizza Express voucher to one lucky agent. Email your answer to
competitions@ttgdigital.com by April 11 with “Where in the World week 6” as the subject.
