Mystery Shopper from Southsea
The mystery shopper visited two agencies in Southsea, Portsmouth on a Thursday morning. They then selected two websites from the results of a Google search for “beach safari wedding in Kenya”
This week’s challenge: A 10-day wedding package to Kenya in October for the bride and groom only, combining a simple beach wedding with a few days on safari, with flights.
CHALLENGE AT A GLANCE. Who:
Seal the deal Provided by the Kenya Tourist Board
Setting the scene: Kenyan weddings can be arranged in the bush, in wilderness camps, on riverbanks, on beaches, with Masai tribesmen or wherever clients’ imagination takes them.
Budget: £4,000 Where: Kenya
Perfect timing: Temperatures in Kenya are consistent all year, but July to September is best for avoiding the wet season. It’s also the best time for witnessing the annual migration of wildebeest.
Date details: UK visitors who want to wed in Kenya need to be resident for three working days before the wedding (excluding day of arrival and local public holidays) and to stay for seven.
Moonlit honeymoon: Small and secluded camps for two, with a “star bed” under the stars, are worth recommending for honey- mooners. For ultimate seclusion, private houses are also available.
TTGhas teamed up with React Surveys to simulate a realistic booking process each week – that means a mystery shopper looking for the best deal from agents and operators on the high street, online, on TV or in newspapers. The Mystery Shopper research is carried out on behalf of TTGby React Surveys, and no further details or information can be disclosed. Researchers take into consideration first impression, sales process, product and budget match and extras offered before giving an unbiased opinion of which channel/company they would have booked with on that occasion. We do not claim that the winner is the best in an area or specialist sector, as we may report on competing travel firms in the future. Please note that the aim of Mystery Shopper is not to criticise individual agents or companies, but to promote good sales technique for the benefit of all in the travel trade.
