What’s in it for agents? We round up a summary ofTTGand WTM events to help you get the most out of the show
AGENTS DAY. Thursday November 11
Thursday at WTM is traditionally “agent day” and this year is no different. A dedicated agent programme of events has been compiled once again, putting counter clerks, agency managers, call centre operators and homeworkers at the forefront of this agenda. Destination briefings will provide key facts and insight on global destinations, plus the chance to win prizes. Participating destinations include the Maldives, South Africa, the Caribbean, Germany and Jordan. A series of training seminars organised by the Institute of Travel & Tourism include one on Pricing Psychology (North Gallery, Room 9, 12.30-1.30pm), giving agents the skills to make a conversation emotional rather than functional and determine the customer’s core buying motive. Another, Charisma Versus The Click (North Gallery, Room 9, 2-3pm), will focus on the relation- ship between travel and the internet, with advice for big brands and one-man bands. Don’t forget that your attendance at WTM will also earn you crucial ATP points. Agents will gain two points for attending and further points for every conference and seminar they attend. Points can be claimed after WTM at
