Page 95 Fuji Intros AIMEX III Placement Platform

Vernon Hills, IL — Fuji Machine Mfg. Co., has introduced the next version of the AIMEX IIIc placement platform that it introduced last year. The AIMEX III has been built with many of the same concepts, as well as the ability to process large panels.

ULT Releases H Class Filtration Unit

Lobau, Germany — ULT AG has introduced its LAS 300.81-HFM054, an ATEX-certified extraction and fil- tration unit with H class filtration that is suited for the removal of com- bustible dusts. The unit is classified as a dust

extractor according to filter class H, corresponding to dust technical approval tests and meeting DIN EN 60335-2-69. The system can be used to extract and filter dry dust parti-

cles with a threshold limit value (TLV) of < 0.1 mg/m3, as well as car- cinogenic emissions. In addition, the system is an

extraction and filtration system for combustible dusts according to dust explosion category 1, and explosive dust-air mixtures that are neither self-ignitable nor pyrophoric. The Ex unit of group II, category 1D is com- pliant with ATEX directive 94/9/EG. The system has been developed

to filter out the particles released during laser processes, which include cutting, engraving or structuring. The LAS 300 series systems have a combination of cartridge and storage filters. The filter elements' material ensures an efficient separation of the particulates it collects. Its main filtration module con-

sists of two class M cartridge filters with optional Teflon coating, which are jet stream cleaned at regular intervals. Pneumatic de-dusting con- tributes to the longevity of the main filter. A HEPA filter H14 is used as a secondary filter, which provides a separation rate of 99.99 percent. The stationary unit is equipped

with step-less volume flow control, fil- ter condition indicator and interface for control by means of external systems. It complies with statutory dust limits, and protects employees, systems and products from the airborne pollutants

released during laser processing. Contact: ULT AG, Am

 Ability and willingness to offer customize equipment built for your application

To see the latest innovation “behind the curtain”, or our popular X-Scope series (1800, 2000, 3000, and 6000), please make an appointment to see us at APEX, or send us your product and schedule a “live” online demo without leaving your factory.

The machine is designed for

high-mix production and has up to 130 part supply positions. The plat- form also allows the loadable number to be increased about 1.5 times by using HexaFeeders, which offer flex- ible response to variations in the quantity of supplied parts. Using a DynaHead (DX) makes it possible for a single machine to support a wide range of part sizes, from 0402 to 74 x 74mm (2.9 x 2.9in). The machine can be set with a

coplanarity check function, which detects defects on parts before place- ment as well as the LCR check func- tion. This enables users to build quality in the production process

even for variable-mix and variable- volume production. The machine handles board sizes up to 774 x 710mm (30.5 x 28in). A double con- veyor configuration is also possible and allows for production using

many different panel types and pro- duction modes. The platform includes an easy-to-use, on-machine editing function and 12in touch- screens, and is able to provide a throughput of 37,000 cph, in high- productivity mode with a placing

accuracy of ±38µm. Contact: Fuji Machine America,
