Concerns over sugar levels are not diminishing consumer demand for soft drinks, but changing it. Whilst delisting traditional favourite soft drink products entirely is not the most profitable course of action, operators and facilities managers should ensure they always provide reduced sugar soft drinks options alongside them. As well as fulfilling demand f or low sugar variants, it demonst rates that vendin g industry is aware of public health issues and is making changes to help address them. It could also lead to improved relations with schools and hospital trusts, which in turn could lead to new contracts and business development – good news for both vending operators and their customers.
