Wendy Wu Tours expands range of worldwide trips

Wendy Wu Tours is to introduce a small worldwide programme for 2017 after the response to new tours to South America and South Africa exceeded expectations.

a brochure in September after revealing four departures sold out within two days. UK managing director


Laurence Hicks said: “We put two departures to South America and two to South Africa on sale on the Saturday and by the Monday they were all full. We booked 120 people almost immediately. “We’ve put another half a dozen departures on for the UK.” Wendy Wu Tours had originally planned to offer a November and a spring departure to both new destinations. Now it will offer four departures in the autumn for South America and two for South Africa, and two apiece for both destinations in the spring. The operator has also added

Tipto hosts record average of 48 agents at series of events


The Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation reported a record start to its 17th year last autumn, with more than 430 agents attending nine events. Tipto runs training events


and roadshows for its supplier members to meet and support travel agents nationwide. Its first quarter, from September


to November, included its new ‘Supershow’ and ‘Face 2 Face’ days as well as traditional roadshows. Each event was attended by 48 agents on average, the highest level of attendance since 2012. Feedback surveys from agents


showed 100% of respondents rated the events as excellent or good. The first ‘supershow’ was rated excellent or good by 80%.
