Curtiss-Wright launches EN ISO 13849 compliant motor controller
C
urtiss-Wright Corporation today announced its Industrial division has introduced a new version of the C3 motor controller to its established and cost- effective range of AC motor controllers. The C3-CE is EN ISO 13849 compliant and, as a new addition to the high-performing, compact and cost-effective C3 motor controller range, provides OEMs with a controller that is ideal for small industrial vehicle applications, including Class 3 pallet trucks. The new C3-CE, from Curtiss-Wright’s brand family of PG Drives Technology, retains all the features and benefits of the original C3 motor controller but has been CE marked as a safety component and designed with EN ISO 13849 Category 3 hardware architecture – including dual microprocessors, dual inputs and a dedicated B+Safe output. This provides a safer and more convenient approach that, unlike the conventional and widely- used Category 2 architecture, doesn’t require the safety function to be checked at ‘machine start-up’ and ‘prior to the initiation of any hazardous situation’, which can be inconvenient and potentially dangerous.

erex Material Handling has added new models to its range of D3 generation new radio controls. The compact DRC-MJ hand held transmitter facilitates ergonomic joystick control of crane systems using just one hand. Previously, operators had a choice of two systems for the radio control of cranes; either a compact unit with pushbuttons or a large control unit with joysticks. The Demag DRC-MJ controller combines the convenience of joystick control of all motions with the ergonomics of a compact hand held unit. The housing of the new control unit is based on the proven design of the Demag DRC DC hand held transmitter. The impact resistant housing material has a smooth surface and is resilient to mechanical loads.

successfully modify its existing Thorworld Industries loading ramp and platform, after nearly six years of effective use. The leading Hinckley based total- systems provider serves industries including power generation, oil and gas, co-generation and CHP, marine, locomotive and industrial markets, and imports numerous 40 foot ISO shipping containers of silencer supplies from India each year. These materials contribute towards the manufacture of a wide range of acoustic silencers, including intake silencers, spark arrestor silencers and industrial silencers.
