2015 Oysterpalooza a rousing success CCA


NH held its annual Oysterpalooza in Sep -


tem ber at the Red Hook Brewery in Portsmouth. The event featured local- ly grown oysters from Cedar Point Shellfish, Dover Point Oyster Company and Virgin Oyster. In addi- tion, four area seafood restaurants — Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Café, Franklin House, Row 34 and Robert’s Maine

will provide support for CCA NH


programs, including the ever-growing Oyster Shell Recycling Program.


Grill — provided signature bites. Red Hook Brewery also featured a special festival brew for the event in addition to their usual selection, and the Bowtie Bandits provided live music. CCA NH board member Amy Broman took the lead in organizing this year’s event.


The event also featured the New Hampshire Oyster Shucking Champ - ionship competition, with 11 contes- tants competing for the state title. Jeff Odess, representing Franklin House, was the Shucking Champion, and later went on to finish a strong seventh in the National Shucking Competition held in Maryland. The funds raised from the event


will provide support for CCA NH programs, including the ever-grow- ing Oyster Shell Recycling Program, which collects shell from area seafood restaurants for use in oyster restora- tion in the Great Bay estuary.
