Casting for Conservation T


HE Horn Island Chapter helped host more than 150 kids from the Jackson County area for a fun day of fishing, learning, and food. The annual event was held at Pascagoula’s Beach and provides rod and reels, tackle, bait,


and instructions on their use. In addi- tion, staff from the Singing River Health Systems ThinkFirst Program, furnished properly sized life vests for each participant. The children also received a copy of Rising Tide, CCA’s youth publication.


Local Boy Scouts, Mississippi Department of Marine Resource Officers, Gulf Coast Research Lab volunteers, and Singing River Health System staff all contributed to mak- ing the event a success. After receiv- ing their fishing gear and instructions
